1. General Information

This is a microeconomics course:

i Because microeconomics is “the Bone and the Brain” of Modern economics

Mathematically advanced course:

i We use some advanced math tools (ODE) to solve microeconomics problems

This is a theory course:

i Examples and applications are rudimentary and serve illustration purposes

This is an advanced theory course:

i We study few advanced models from the literature (economics journals)

It is often said:

i Economics is all about welfare Then: i Microeconomics is all about choice

We distinguish two environments where economic agents make choices:

i Individual choice, in particular: ¾ Consumer choice: classical microeconomics i Collective choices, where many agents make choices ¾ Game Theory (also considered as a part of micro)
